About Me

Sometimes, my mornings begin with silence — the kind of silence that feels like calm before creation.
The coffee machine hums softly, sunlight spills across my brushes, and the scent of foundation mixes with something warm and sweet — maybe hope.
That’s the moment I always fall in love with my work again.

I’m Alena Korolenko — a makeup artist, stylist, and the founder of ISMERRA, a calm beauty space built around quiet confidence and soft glam.
I don’t chase trends — I listen. To faces, to moods, to stories. Because beauty isn’t just how we look — it’s how we feel in our own skin.

How it all started

I didn’t grow up dreaming of powders and palettes.
My first makeup brush wasn’t even mine — it belonged to a friend who trusted me enough to “experiment” before a graduation photoshoot.
That day, I realized I could make someone’s face light up — not because of shimmer, but because of emotion. She looked at herself and whispered, “Is that really me?”
And that tiny phrase changed everything.

After that, I began learning — from everyone and everywhere.
YouTube tutorials, backstage shoots, countless trials and mistakes.
There were evenings when my fingers ached, mornings when I doubted myself, and days when I wanted to quit. But every time a client looked into the mirror with that mix of surprise and joy — I knew I was exactly where I should be.

Finding my style

Over the years, I learned that soft glam isn’t about shine — it’s about balance.
It’s the art of glowing skin that still breathes, lashes that open the eyes without drama, and brows that frame emotions, not just faces.
I wanted to create looks that felt natural, like beauty that already lived inside — I only helped it come forward.

My clients often tell me they feel lighter after our sessions.
Maybe because I never treat makeup as a mask — it’s a mirror.
A way to reconnect with yourself.

The birth of ISMERRA

ISMERRA began as an idea on a quiet Sunday — just a name written on paper beside a cup of cappuccino.
I wanted a space that looked and felt like my work: soft, warm, real.
No noise, no perfection — only inspiration.

To me, ISMERRA isn’t a magazine or a blog.
It’s a collection of beauty stories — nails, hair, looks, moods — all connected by one simple truth: calm is the new confident.
Here I share what I love — not to impress, but to inspire.

I wanted to build a little digital corner where women could slow down, scroll, and feel that spark of “maybe I’ll try this.”
Because that’s where transformation begins — not in the mirror, but in a thought.

Behind the scenes

When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me wandering through little cafés, sketching ideas for a new look, or people-watching — my favorite hobby.
I love noticing how women carry themselves: the way someone tucks a strand of hair, the confidence in a simple walk, the joy in small details.
These moments always remind me: beauty isn’t staged — it’s lived.

I’m inspired by neutral tones, soft sunlight, the smell of morning coffee, and the sound of city rain on glass.
Sometimes, the best ideas come not from Pinterest, but from the quiet moments when life just happens.

What beauty means to me

Beauty, for me, is not perfection.
It’s confidence — the calm kind, not the loud one.
It’s the sparkle in your eyes when you finally feel seen.
It’s the peace you feel when you stop comparing yourself to someone else.

Every face has its own rhythm. My job is to listen — and paint in tune with it.

A message from me

Thank you for being here — for reading, for feeling, for caring about beauty in your own way.
I hope ISMERRA gives you the same quiet joy it gives me — a space to pause, breathe, and rediscover yourself.

If you ever sit in my chair one day, know this:
You don’t need to become someone else to feel beautiful.
You already are. I’ll just help you see it.

“Beauty starts where confidence begins.”
